Evaluation of morphological traits in Aseel and Kadaknath breeds under backyardpoultry farming using principal component analysis

چکیده

Aseel and Kadaknath chickens are recognized for their hardiness adaptability to warm humid climates being used genetic improvement of different breeds which appropriate backyard poultry farming in India. In the present study, an attempt was made first time India assess relationship among morphological traits explain body conformation under using principal component analysis (PCA). Eleven viz., 24-week weight, comb length, keel back breast girth, angle, radius-ulna shank circumference, tail length were measured both breeds. breeds, correlations between all characteristics found be positive significant (p < 0.01) varied from 0.245 (tail girth) 0.797 (shank circumference length) 0.247 weight) 0.768 (back Kadaknath. All had a high correlation with weight chicken suggesting probable use morphometric predicting weight. The extracted two components accounted 64.822% 68.286% total variability original Kadaknath, respectively.
